It's not often we bring in brewing equipment, but the Bunn MCU Brewer is an exception. Giving you the option to use either K-Cups, coffee pods or fresh-roasted ground coffee (and loose leaf tea) opens up the world of choice to you - giving you more quality at lower prices. Ships for FREE!

The Bunn My Cafe MCU Brewer is a multi-purpose coffee and tea maker, capable of brewing:
  1. K-Cups
  2. Ground Coffee and Loose Leaf Tea
  3. Coffee Pods and Tea Bags
  4. Hot Water

The K-Cup attachment (included) allows you to brew traditional K-Cups, letting you countinue to enjoy your favourite flavoured coffees and hot chocolates.

The ground coffee attachment (included) opens up options for fresh-roasted, ground coffee from anywhere in the world. Coffee is a product that is best within a week or two of being roasted, and should be ground as close as possible to the date you use it. Unlike k-cups or coffee pods which may have been roasted and ground months before-hand, ground coffee from roasters like us is at your door within dadys. It's simply impossible to match the flavour with pre-packaged coffee.

The coffee pod attachment (included) lets you make coffee with easy-to-use coffee pods if you have a pod that you just can't live without.

Lastly, the hot water attachment (included) lets you dispense hot water for tea or hot chocolate, or even to pour into a bowl of noodles!

Compared with pre-packed coffee pods or k-cups, ground coffee is 50%-80% less expensive, costing just $0.20-$0.25 per serving vs. $0.50-$0.80 per serving for k-cups. With the Bunn MCU, you get the ease of single-servings of coffee with the quality and cost-savings of ground coffee.

About the Bunn MCU Pod Brewer

The hot water can also be dispensed directly into a cup or bowl using the hot water attachment, making for quick cooking of oats, noodles, gelatin and instant coffee. Adjustable drink sizes range from 4 ounces to 14 ounces, all in under a minute. Accommodates mugs up to 6", for travel mugs first brew into a regular mug and pour into a travel mug.

The multi-drawer attachment is what makes this machine so versatile - the instructions clearly lay out how each is used and the serving size required. The inner working of the machine is fairly simple aside from the multiple adapters, with the only real option is whether to set for a countinuous pour of a pulse pour (better for darker roasts that require a little extra extraction time). Thanks to it's simplicity, it turns out to be a very robust and sturdy machine with low incidences of problems.

Among the chief differences from a standard Keurig brewer is the lack of a water reservoir - the Bunn My Cafe cleverly uses all the water you pour into the top of the unit, allowing you to 100% control how large of the finished drink you get. This not only saves energy as it keeps you from heating more water than you need, but also allows you to make a cup indefinitely with under a minute for each.

There is no "automatic off" on the machine, though it does enter a sleep mode after 26 hours of no use. The internal water temperature is set at 200 degrees Fahrenheit by default and can't be adjusted.

Some customers have said it's a little noisier than the Keurig B70, but that it's also about 25% smaller. The versatility of the machine allows you to make a single cup of whatever you have on hand, whether it's a k-cup, ground coffee, coffee/tea pods or loose leaf tea. It's as if Bunn took all the feedback that Keurig should have, and made them a new, better machine.

Those who generally find that k-cups make a cup of coffee to small or too weak will love the ground coffee attachment - which allows you to add up to 20 grams of ground coffee for a large, strong cup of coffee. For comparison, most K-Cups have 10-12 grams of coffee.

The versatility of this brewer is far superior to any other Keurig brewer I could find. It brews a cup exactly the size I want because I control the amount of water used from the get go. I can make coffee as strong as I wish by controlling the amount of water I use. There is a basket for loose coffee grounds and one for K Cups, as well as a soft pod basket and a water basket. I use the first two for coffee, hot chocolate and other premade hot drinks such as English Toffee. I have many types of brewers, but this one is the most convenient I have found to date.

I am very happy with this product. We use it in our office and all 3 employees are pleased with it. Coffee taste is perfect. Very fast brewing time and perfect temperature. Would prefered a better solution for tea infusion (longer delays for infusion). Also if mug are not super tall, it is quite a mess, coffee splatter everywhere! You need tall mugs! Overall the quality built is impressive and looks very durable.

With only one coffee drinker in the house, I thought this was the perfect solution for me. What I didn't expect was that the other member of the household would like the Bunn even better for loose leaf tea than I do for the K-cup coffee. We have hard water so not having a water reservoir that requires descaling is a plus. The spray head does, however, need regular maintenance.

We have had 2 Keurigs (lasted a year each), a Tassimo (lasted a year) and 2 Dolce Gusto (lasted a bit over a year each) coffee makers. It seems that, even though we faithfully cleaned them (with the suggested cleaners), the pumps would malfunction. The Bunn My Cafe is the BEST of them all. It is simple to use, very fast, and takes K-cups as well as has a separate holder for tea, coffee grounds and one for hot water (so you don't get coffee-tasting water). You can press a button for a pulsed water flow if you wish a stronger beverage. I like that there is a very strong BLAST of pressure at the end of each beverage-making session, for it seems to 'clean' out the lines. They recommend that you USE tap water, for minerals in the water make better tasting coffee. Cleaning is done with vinegar every 3 months. Bunn has been a leader in restaurant coffee makers for years and has certainly mastered this single cup brewer. It comes with a 2 year warranty. I would HIGHLY recommend this machine. (Mind you, it is very hard to find. Thanks 'Buy Coffee Canada' for carrying this product ... and getting it to me so quickly as well!)

I found the Bunn MCU My Cafe single cup brewer very impressively engineered. Even though it's primarily a product for the home, it's clearly a superior product that could be used constantly in a restaurant environment and last a long time, I bet. I use it with K cups, freshly ground coffee beans and even decaf beans. I haven't been at all disappointed. I haven't tried the soft pods yet so I don't know how well they work. It's a versatile machine that has satisfied my desired for a bold cup of coffee regardless of the option used. Phil B

We are pretty happy with this machine. We use the k cup and pod drawer most. We like it a lot but found that the k cup drawer is difficult to put in the machine unlike all he other drawers. The coffee is really good and the tea is strong.

I bought this unit after being very disappointed with the keurig machine. I love having options when using the bunn. I drink a lot of loose leaf tea and use the ground coffee drawer for this (works best if you have pulse on). I also love it for having on demand hot water which is great for making kids oatmeal in the morning. I am however disappointed with the k cup drawer. Everytime I use it I get grounds in the coffee. If you don't press the lid down in the exact right way you will have this issue. I even called bunn's customer service who told me you have to press it the exact right way and even she had troubles with her machine. However, I have just found an excellent solution and that is to just buy the soft bottom coffee pods which are shallow enough not to be punctured by the bottom needle.

My Kleurig coffee maker died and I searched reviews to replace it with a brewer that had good reviews over the internet in the moderate/high price range. I think a good cup of coffee is worth it. This brewer across the board comes in first or second pretty much but the price to get it is almost prohibitive if you live in Canada, like many things, and it doesn't help with the Canadian dollar is down. I found a few places that offered this price but concerned about the reputations when checking. Buy Coffee Canada delivered in about a week with no hitches and free shipping. I was concerned that this brewer would take longer to brew coffee and might be more of a hassle. It doesn't have a big reservoir and sliding in it's sleeve was of a concern. In reality, it brews quicker, a lot quicker for heating up the water so the time it takes from start to finish is the same or perhaps quicker. It has the pulse aspect for stronger coffee and that makes a difference to me. The old Kleurig had those pods you can fill with your own coffee but I found them not to perform so well. The fact that this brewer has a cup MADE for your own coffee is great since I have my own grounds as back-up when I am out of pods. It has a hot water option which I didn't think I would use but actually since I have it I have found that I am drinking other options: tea, hot water with lemon and honey, etc... Sturdy looking little machine that is deeper than wider substantially which works well on my small counter in a condo. If I didn't live alone perhaps not having the big reservoir would be an issue, but this coffee maker is perfect for me. The coffee packet option is supported however I don't see this on the site. Considering that this type of format is a bit more reasonable and if offered I would buy it if it works out to be the same or less than buying k-cups from Costco. Would not even flinch; having something delivered to my door is a lot more convenient that lugging it from the store. Would and WILL recommend this coffee system.

i really love this machine. Not only can I continue using my favourite ground coffee but we can also have a quick cup of tea, a K-cup or the kids can use the hot water drawer for a hot chocolate. It is easy to use, easy to clean and I love the versatility it offers.

The product arrived as advertised and I was drinking coffee in about 15 minutes! It works extremely well; we use it mostly for ground coffee and tea from teabags. We checked the temperature of the water and it is about 160 degrees when it has not been used for awhile. Once used and it has had time to heat up (i.e. after making a cup of tea or coffee), the next cup's temperature is about 170 degrees. This is ok but not the ideal temperature advertised as 200 degrees. If you do not use a thermal cup, your tea or coffee will cool quickly. We are at about 1000 feet above sea-level so altitude shouldn't be much of a factor. It squeaks a bit for every cup and otherwise the pump is fairly quiet.

Questions and Answers

is the 4 drawers are included with it? or which drawers are included with it.
The 4 attachments for k-cups, ground coffee, coffee pods and water come with the Bunn My Cafe MCU Brewer.

What is the tallest height mug you can use? I want to use my travel mug with it. Thanks.
Mugs larger than 6 inches will not fit with the K-Cup drawer. We recommend brewing into a standard mug and transferring to a travel mug.
