Indian Parchment Kaapi Royale Robusta Green Coffee Beans.

These Robusta beans are some of the first that we've found on the market that we're comfortable carrying from a quality standpoint.

The Kaapi Royale grade is done based on 95% 6.77mm (17 screen) and 100% 6.65 screen.

Robusta coffee beans are grown at lower altitudes than Arabicas. They tend to be heartier and more resistant to insects. Another key seller for these beans is the amount of caffeine - as much as double as some of the milder Arabica coffees we carry.

If you want to add a caffeine kick to your morning these are a great addition.

You can expect a relatively clean full bodied cup that's still smooth and mellow. There is a dominating woodsy aroma and flavour with a very unique mild rubbery after-taste.

These beans stand up well to darker roasts than you would typically put an Arabica through - we've pushed them past second crack and still come up with a good roast. We've found these bounds particularly robust (pun intended) in espresso blends especially those intended to be used in milk-based drinks that overwhelm a standard coffee. Roasted properly this bean makes an incredibly pronounced crema that sits proudly on top of the espresso itself.

The rubbery taste often associated with cheaper robusta beans is nearly undetectable.
